On May 18, 2019, two terrific young women, Val Kilborn and Greta Zimmer with the help of third rising star, Stevie Bianco, put together and pulled-off the most amazing fundraiser; The Green Butterfly Fashion Show Val is one of the New Trier students that helped with the Winnetka Thrift Shop and ARC*, a sub-group of the New Trier Environmental Club, clothing drive. And to my surprise, her mom is one of my favorite customers! To say I was stunned is an understatement. To say it was just a fashion show would be a lie. There was art. There was music. And there was SUSTANABLE fashion. Each runway creation was fashioned from recycled clothing and other discarded items to create a stunning one-of-a-kind new design. Such talent! Such creativity! Here are a couple of runway shots from the show. The Benefit raised $1,300 for the Alliance for the Great Lakes, Better Sister Growth Network and the Benevolence Society and their Mission Giving Committee. Way to go ladies! Can't wait to see what's next!
